When Veneers Are the Viable Solution

Porcelain veneers are very effective at covering imperfections in the teeth. That said, veneers aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution for damaged teeth. There are a number of situations that warrant their installation:

  • Thinning Enamel. The enamel of the teeth may be the hardest material in the human body, but over time, it can get worn out. The process can accelerate depending on your genetics and habits.
  • Wear and Tear. Food, drinks, and smoking are not the only factors that damage the teeth. Accidents may break, crack, and chip the teeth; one example may be to, say, a tooth suddenly cracking because a small pebble was found in a piece of meat.
  • Uneven Teeth. Teeth may become uneven from grinding, chipping and other similar causes.
  • Discoloration. Teeth whitening or bleaching can deal with extrinsic stains – those that come from external sources such as tobacco, coffee, tea, and dark foods. Intrinsic stains stem from genetics and medications you took as a child, and bleaching is not enough for these.

If you have any of these issues, there’s a good chance that dental veneers can solve your problem. Visit a dentist near you for an exam to learn if veneers are a viable option for you.
